南韓政府周五公布，5月份工業產值意外萎縮，自前月修正後的成長扭轉回來。

南韓政府周五公布，5月份工業產值意外萎縮，自前月修正後的成長扭轉回來。

5月份工業產值年減1.4%，大多係因機械和煉油貨物的出貨量下滑。修正後的4月份數據則在連續2個月工業產值下滑後，轉為擴張1.6%。

根據《道瓊社》的調查，5月份數據不及經濟學家原先預期年升1.3%的估計中值。

5月份工業產值季調後月減0.4%，也較4月份修正後的0.6%月升幅遜色。此數據亦低於市場預期。根據《道瓊社》的調查，市場預期中值為上升0.9%。

5月份領先指標 (可預估經濟狀況而受密切關注的數據) 自前月的99.6小升至99.9。該指標數據低於100意味經濟狀況將惡化。

5月份工業產值公布的前一日，南韓金融部門甫上修今年經濟成長預期，自2.3%上升至2.7%，因為金融部門預期刺激措施在今年稍晚將「全面發揮效用」。

國會5月時核准政府額外支出17.3兆韓元 (149.7億美元)，以及旨在創造就業的經濟刺激措施，和支撐房市和小型企業的措施。南韓央行也調降其政策利率1/4個百分點至2.5%。

南韓近2年來的季度經濟擴張均低於1%。2012全年經濟成長2%，為3年來最低成長幅度，較2011年的3.6%成長幅縮減。
