摘要：(1) 天主教宗方濟22號飛往巴西里約熱內盧，預備參加25號開始的世界青年日大會。這是方濟成為教宗後首次出訪國外，他也不忘展現親民作風，乘坐著專用白色吉普車，與民眾近距離接觸，受到信徒熱烈歡迎。 (2) 天主教信徒多達1.2億的南美國家巴西，22號隆重迎接天主教教宗駕臨。不過並非每個人都歡迎教宗方濟，22號晚間就在歡迎會場外，數千名民眾不滿政府砸大錢接待教宗，與鎮暴警察爆發激烈衝突。 (3) 16號美國澳洲聯合軍演，美軍的兩架轟炸機，因為執行上的疏失，竟然在世界遺產，澳洲大堡礁附近投擲四枚炸彈。
