美滑鼠之父逝世　享壽88歲

發明電腦滑鼠的美國科技專家恩格巴特(Douglas C. Engelbart)昨晚辭世，享壽88歲。恩格巴特的女兒說，恩格巴特長期對抗阿茲海默症，昨晚在加州的家中因發生急性腎衰竭而離開人世。

1968年恩格巴特提出滑鼠原型概念，數十年後被封為「展示之母」。恩格巴特一生都在鑽研電腦，但他從未因此獲得財富，也未從滑鼠身上收到半毛專利金。

恩格巴特在2005年接受媒體訪問時表示，他覺得自己過去20年的人生「很失敗」，因為無法為自己的研究找到資金。
