病魔慘敗　英腦癌少年成黑帶高手

【李忠謙／綜合外電報導】英國一名14歲少年基明斯（Daniel Kimmins）6歲時因頭痛被診斷出腦部腫瘤，7歲生日的前幾天緊急推進開刀房手術。醫生警告他術後的半身麻痺，未來很可能會變成半身不遂，不過基明斯並未就此放棄自己。經過漫長復健，現在的基明斯已是跆拳道黑帶高手，連囂張的病魔也被KO慘敗。

基明斯術後經歷許多痛苦漫長的復健，包括化療、電療，連走路也要重新學習。但他。基明斯的媽媽說，兒子手術後左半身根本不能動、說話都說不好，醫生說這種情況可能會伴隨他一輩子。 但基明斯不放棄自己，也不放棄6歲時開始練的跆拳道。因為在輪椅上坐了兩年，他必須練習走路、練習說話，練習做每一件平常人都可以輕鬆做到的事。

基明斯兩年前重新挑戰跆拳道，在平衡感與持久力不如他人的情況下，他仍舊晉升為黑帶，現在也保持一周兩次的跆拳道練習。他的媽媽說：「現在的他，能作到所有罹患腦癌前能做到的事。我以我的兒子為傲。」
