葉玫返台　外交部感謝英國協助

【陳郁仁／台北報導】潛逃英國的軍情局中尉葉玫，今下午在英國派員全程戒護遣返下回台，外交部隨即發佈新聞考表示，葉玫下機後已由台中地檢署派員解送歸案，過程平順，外交部也對英國相關主管機關及英國貿易文化辦事處就本案所提供的協助，表示感謝。

外交部發言人高安說，葉玫遭英國拘留期間，我駐英代表處除了和英國協調遣返事宜外，並派員前往探視葉玫，提供必要協助。

外交人士說，因為台英間沒邦交，所以英方要求在葉玫返國前，我政府不得對外多作發言，基於這層默契，外交部一直到今天葉玫返底國門後，才敢對外發言。葉玫遭英拘留期間，使出許多招數希望可以不要回台，曾拒見我外館官員；去年12月本來要遣返，她又說身體不適，不過最後英方因認為她不符合政治庇護因素，所以雖然與我無邦交，仍將她遣返回台。
